You Have Found Us.

Either you stumbled upon our humble little site through happenstance or have deliberately sought us out through a link. Either way, welcome to the Golden Ears Community website. We are a worker-run cooperative of young, hard-working individuals. We seek to use our energies towards building a sustainable food system in our region. Some of us have gone to universities, others around the world, but all of us reached the same conclusion: We must live in harmony with nature.
With the help of volunteers or "wwoofers", we spend the season of May til October growing fruits, vegetables, ourselves, and our community.

We are not alone. These types of farming cooperatives are popping up quietly like seeds dormant for too long. Awakened by the agitation of our ethics being stomped and spit on by the current world order of consumerism, we break out of our sleep and begin to take root in the soil.

In 2009, the BC Food Systems Network (BCFSN) gave birth to the Shuswap Regional Food Network (SRFN). The goal of our regional network is to enable communication through our list-serve as well as through community pot lucks and events. If this sounds like something you'd like to be a part of, if only to share your thoughts, click here to sign up. "Let's Talk Local Food and Local Solutions" was the theme of last year's gathering. See the TRU article for more information.
